Frequently asked questions
How do I score a game?
On a session, tap Pin-by-Pin to open the pin deck, then tap the pins you leave standing after each ball — strikes and spares take a single tap. Anchor fills in the marks and running total on a real scoresheet as you go. Prefer to enter a final number? Tap Final Score and type it in. Every roll autosaves, so you can leave mid-game and pick it up from the live scorecard anytime.
What’s free, and what is Anchor Pro?
Scoring is free forever — entry, your full history, average, high game and high series, strike / spare / open percentages, the printed scoresheet, keepsake photos, sharing, and iCloud sync. Anchor Pro goes deeper: full spare & leave intelligence and the Pin Deck heat map, trends over time, custom date ranges, printable PDF reports and CSV export, home-screen widgets, and multiple bowlers, leagues, and balls. Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. For current prices, see Anchor on the App Store.
I bought Pro but don’t see it. How do I restore?
Open the paywall (Settings → Unlock Anchor Pro, or Stats → Reports & Export) and tap Restore Purchases. Your unlock is tied to your Apple ID, so it carries across your devices and reinstalls. If you use a yearly or monthly plan, make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID you purchased with.
Does the yearly plan bill monthly?
No. The yearly plan is billed once, up front, and includes a 7-day free trial. The monthly plan is true month-to-month and you can cancel anytime. The lifetime option is a single one-time payment — no subscription. You manage or cancel any subscription in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Does Anchor need an internet connection?
No. Scoring, history, stats, and exports all work completely offline on your device. An internet connection is only used to sync your data through your own private iCloud (if you have it turned on) and for a few anonymous app-usage counts.
How does iCloud sync work? Will I lose my data?
If iCloud is enabled, Anchor keeps your games in sync across your own devices using your private iCloud account — we never see them. Because your data is backed up to iCloud, it comes back when you reinstall or set up a new device. You can turn sync off in Settings to keep data only on the current device.
Which languages does Anchor support?
Anchor is available in English, Japanese, Spanish, French, and Portuguese (Brazil). You can switch the app’s language anytime in Settings → Language, independently of your device language.
Can I export my scores?
Yes. Anchor Pro exports everything to a CSV spreadsheet, and generates printable PDF reports — a Season Book, a spare-practice sheet, and a match sheet — that you can save, print, or share.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your games, scores, and photos stay on your device and in your own private iCloud — never on our servers. There are no accounts and no ads, and Anchor never tracks you. The only thing we collect is a small number of anonymous app-usage events. See our Privacy Policy.
