VaultPix Support

There is no way to recover it, and no way for us to reset it. That is deliberate: a back door for you is a back door for anyone holding your phone. VaultPix has no account, no server and no copy of your PIN — only a salted hash stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.

If you forget it, the only way back into the app is to delete and reinstall VaultPix, which erases the vault and everything in it. Please write your PIN down somewhere safe before you rely on the vault.

You can change your vault PIN or decoy PIN at any time from Settings, as long as you can still enter the current one.

This can happen after a partial device restore, where your vault files came across but the Keychain entry holding your PIN did not. Your photos are unaffected — set a new PIN and carry on.

You set a second PIN in Settings → Security Checklist → Decoy PIN. Entering that PIN at the lock screen opens a separate, isolated set of albums instead of your real vault.

The decoy is designed to look like the whole app — no badges, no greyed-out buttons, no “restricted mode” banner. Anyone who insists on seeing your photos browses the decoy and has no reason to think another vault exists. Put a few harmless photos in it so it doesn't look staged.

Three failed PIN attempts in a row triggers a silent front-camera capture. Each attempt is recorded with a photo and a timestamp, and the count appears on your dashboard. Capturing happens on every tier; opening the log to see the photos requires VaultPix Pro. The camera permission is only ever used for this — nothing is uploaded.

One screen that arms every protection in the app: intruder camera, decoy PIN, Face ID unlock, and instant lock. Protections only work if they are switched on before you need them, so the dashboard nags you until the checklist is complete.

Tap Lock Now on the dashboard, or double-tap the vault background if Instant Lock is enabled. VaultPix also locks itself the moment you leave the app, so switching apps or locking your phone is enough.

Yes. Videos are stored encrypted like photos, and play inside the app with sound — nothing leaves the vault to play them.

Always, on every tier. Export is never a paid feature and nothing you have already imported is ever hidden behind a plan limit. Open an item or select several, then use the export option to save them back to your photo library.

VaultPix has no cloud of its own — that is the point — so the vault lives and dies with the app on that device. Deleting the app erases the vault permanently. Before you change phones, reset your device or delete VaultPix, export anything you cannot afford to lose.

No. VaultPix Pro is a single one-time purchase of $24.99 (local pricing varies), applied to your Apple Account. There are no auto-renewals and nothing to cancel. Find it under Settings → Premium → Upgrade to Pro.

Go to Settings → Premium and tap Restore Purchases, making sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on. If it still doesn't restore, email us and include the date of purchase.

Yes. Photos and videos are encrypted on your device with AES‑256‑GCM, and the key is held in the iOS Keychain. There is no account, no server and no cloud sync, and the app makes no network calls other than to Apple for the in-app purchase. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs. Photos so you can import items into the vault, and Camera for intruder capture. Both are optional — the app works without them, you just lose the matching feature. Face ID access is requested only if you turn Face ID unlock on.
