Our Commitment to Your Privacy
GiftTracker respects your privacy and gives you full control over your gift data.
Your gift lists, recipient information, and budget details belong entirely to you. GiftTracker is built with privacy-first principles — no unnecessary data collection, no third-party tracking, and no ads.
What This Means for You
- Local Storage First: All gift information, recipient details, and budgets are stored locally on your device by default.
- Optional iCloud Sync: You control whether data syncs across your Apple devices. Syncing is disabled by default.
- No Third-Party Analytics: GiftTracker does not include analytics SDKs, ad networks, or tracking tools.
- No Hidden Data Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties.
Data Collection
Minimal Data Collection. GiftTracker only stores data you explicitly enter:
- Gift information (name, status, estimated and actual prices)
- Recipient details (name, relationship, birthday, contact info if you choose to add it)
- Season details (name, type, budget, deadline)
- Photos you choose to attach to gifts
- Gift notes and research you add
- App settings and preferences
- Optional in-app purchase records handled entirely through Apple's secure payment system.
We do NOT collect or store:
- Personal information beyond what you choose to enter
- Your contacts (unless you choose to import)
- Device identifiers or location data
- Usage analytics or app behavior data
- Any data outside of what you enter in the app
iCloud Sync (Optional)
GiftTracker offers optional iCloud sync to keep your data synchronized across your Apple devices. This feature is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled in Settings.
When iCloud sync is enabled, your gift data is securely transmitted to Apple's iCloud servers and synchronized across devices signed into the same Apple ID. This data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account.
We do not have access to your iCloud data. All syncing is handled directly through Apple's CloudKit framework, which follows Apple's strict privacy and security standards.
Your Data, Your Control
- All locally stored data is deleted when you uninstall the app.
- You can enable or disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings.
- You can archive or delete recipients, seasons, and gifts at any time.
- No one — including the developer — has access to your gift lists or personal information.
- Export your data as PDF reports (Pro feature) for offline backup.
Third-Party Services
GiftTracker integrates only with Apple's frameworks:
- CloudKit: Optional iCloud sync (only when you enable it)
- StoreKit: In-app purchases and subscription management
- PhotosUI: Photo library integration for adding gift photos
No external SDKs, advertising networks, analytics tools, or social integrations are used.
Changes to This Policy
Any updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page. Substantial changes will be clearly announced within the app prior to taking effect.
