Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Chroni respects your privacy and gives you control over your time tracking data.
We believe your work habits and time allocation should remain private and under your complete control. Chroni was designed with privacy-first principles to protect your professional information.
What This Means for You
- Local Storage First: All time tracking records and project data are stored locally on your device by default.
- Optional iCloud Sync: You choose whether to enable iCloud synchronization for cross-device access.
- No Third-Party Analytics: Chroni does not use any analytics, tracking, or third-party services.
- Offline Capable: The app works fully offline with sync when you choose to enable it.
Data Collection
Minimal Data Collection. Chroni only collects and stores the time tracking data you explicitly enter:
- Project names and color themes you create
- Time log entries with dates and durations you record
- App settings and preferences you configure
- Notification preferences if you enable them
We do NOT collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Usage analytics or app behavior data
- Device identifiers or location data
- Any data outside of what you enter in the app
iCloud Synchronization
Chroni offers optional iCloud synchronization through Apple's CloudKit framework:
- Completely Optional: iCloud sync is disabled by default and only enabled with your explicit consent
- Apple's Infrastructure: When enabled, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's encrypted servers
- End-to-End Encryption: Your time tracking data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Your Control: You can disable iCloud sync at any time from the app settings
- No Third-Party Access: Only you and devices signed into your iCloud account can access the data
Your Data, Your Control
You maintain complete control over your time tracking data:
- Export your data anytime using the app's CSV or PDF export features
- Delete all data by deleting the app from your device
- Disable iCloud sync to keep data local-only
- Import/export data for backup and migration purposes
- No one else has access to your productivity information
Third-Party Services
Chroni does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks beyond Apple's optional iCloud service for data synchronization. The app is designed to be self-contained and operates independently.
Notifications
Chroni includes optional smart notification features for productivity tracking. These notifications are generated locally on your device and do not involve any external services. You can disable notifications at any time through the app settings or iOS settings.
Changes to This Policy
Any changes to this privacy policy will be updated on this page and in the app. However, our core commitment to respecting your privacy and giving you control over your data will never change.
